Upgrade or Downgrade Your Web Hosting Plan
Shared Web Hosting Plans
- DirectAdmin to DirectAdmin Plan
- Switch from an existing shared web hosting plan with the DirectAdmin control panel to another web hosting plan with the DirectAdmin control panel
If you have a Shared Web Hosting Plan and you want to upgrade or downgrade to another Shared Web Hosting Plan with the same control panel, you can do so through your Account portal.
Please make sure you check the specs of the web hosting plan you wish to upgrade to downgrade to prior to placing the order. All web hosting plans and their details can be seen here: Shared Web Hosting w/ DirectAdmin Control Panel
If you are downgrading, a credit will be created for your account and if you are upgrading, a pro rated invoice will be generated and once it’s paid, your upgrade will happen automatically within 5-10 minutes.
- Steps to upgrade / downgrade your DirectAdmin Shared Web Hosting Plan

Start by logging into your account at https://core.evolvewebhosting.com/login

Either click on the Services icon from the dashboard or in the secondary menu, go to Services > My Services and then click the row for your web hosting plan that you’d like to upgrade or downgrade.

Once the service details page loads, you’ll find an upgrade / downgrade link on the left side of your screen (desktop and tablet) or near the top of your screen on a mobile phone. Click that link.

You will be presented with the available web hosting plan(s) to switch to. Follow the prompts to add the new web hosting plan to your shopping cart.

You must complete any payment needed to process the change

The change will automatically happen within 5-10 minutes and no downtime to your website(s)
- cPanel to cPanel Plan
- Switch from an existing shared web hosting plan with the cPanel control panel to another web hosting plan with the cPanel control panel
If you have a Shared Web Hosting Plan and you want to upgrade or downgrade to another Shared Web Hosting Plan with the same control panel, you can do so through your Account portal.

- cPanel or DirectAdmin Shared Web Hosting Plan to a VPS
- Switch from an existing shared web hosting plan with the cPanel or DirectAdmin control panel to a Managed Virtual Private Server
If you have a Shared Hosting Plan and you want to upgrade to a Virtual Private Server (VPS), please submit a ticket for our Billing Department and we can provide you with your options and the steps forward to complete the server change. You can also give us a call at 303-900-5050 (Sales / Billing hours are from 7am - 7pm MST 7 days a week). This does require a migration to a different server which our Tech Support will take care of for you at no additional cost
Managed Virtual Private Servers
If you have a Managed VPS Hosting Plan and you want to upgrade or downgrade to another Managed VPS Hosting Plan, you can do so through your Account portal. Please make sure your current usage fits the quota of the plan you’re changing to. We will manually check these details before processing your request to make sure service is not disrupted and the new plan has the adequate resources for your current usage.

If you are wanting to change from cPanel to DirectAdmin or DirectAdmin to cPanel, this requires a Server migration which we will schedule and complete for you
- Upgrading the Server Specs
- In order to upgrade the Server specs and leave any configurable options as is,
