Upgrade or Downgrade Your Microsoft 365 Licenses and Options

Add or Remove Additional Users

Microsoft 365 Business Basic
You may wish to add or remove Tenant Licenses from time to time. Making this change is easy directly in the Evolve Web Hosting portal.

Note - If you have purchased licenses on an Annual basis, new licenses can be added during that term but no licenses can be removed until the start of the next Annual term.

Microsoft 365 Business Standard
You may wish to add or remove Tenant Licenses from time to time. Making this change is easy directly in the Evolve Web Hosting portal.

Changing from Business Basic to Business Standard or Business Standard to Business Basic

Scenario 1
You currently have 1 or more Business Basic licenses and now you would like to add Business Standard license(s)

If you want to upgrade all of your Microsoft 365 Business Basic Licenses to Microsoft 365 Business Standard, submit a cancellation request for all of your Business Basic licenses and place a new order for the Business Standard licenses. None of your data will be lost or need to be transferred.

If all of your licenses are Microsoft 365 Business Basic and you’d like to upgrade some of those licenses to Microsoft 365 Business Standard, modify the additional licenses option for the Microsoft 365 Business Basic Service and then place a new order for the Microsoft 365 Business Standard licenses you’d like to acquire.

Scenario 2
You currently have a few Microsoft 365 Business Basic licenses and a few Microsoft 365 Business Standard licenses and you want to change the amount of either of those license types.

From the listing of your Active services, click the row for each license type and then click Upgrade / Downgrade Options and then change the number of Additional Licenses, click Continue and complete the checkout process to make those changes.

Scenario 3
You currently have 1 or more Microsoft 365 Business Standard licenses and now you would like to add Microsoft 365 Business Basic license(s)

If you want to downgrade all of your Microsoft 365 Business Standard Licenses to Microsoft 365 Business Basic, submit a cancellation request for all of the Microsoft 365 Business Standard licenses and place a new order for the Microsoft 365 Business Basic licenses.

If you have all Microsoft 365 Business Standard licenses and you’d like to downgrade some of those licenses to Microsoft 365 Business Basic, modify the additional licenses for the Microsoft 365 Business Standard and then place a new order for the Microsoft 365 Business Basic licenses you’d like to acquire.

Steps to upgrade / downgrade your Microsoft 365 Licenses

Start by logging into your account at https://core.evolvewebhosting.com/login

Either click on the Services icon from the dashboard or in the secondary menu, go to Services > My Services and then click the row for your Microsoft 365 Licenses that you’d like to upgrade or downgrade.

Once the service details page loads, you’ll find a link on the left side of your screen (desktop and tablet) or near the top of your screen on a mobile phone that says Upgrade / Downgrade Options. Click that link.

You will be presented with the available configurable options which are Additional Microsoft 365 Business Basic or Business Standard licenses Microsoft Copilot Microsoft Entra P1 Microsoft Entra P2 Microsoft Defender for Office 365 Microsoft Information Protection

Enter the quantity of licenses you’d like to have for each service.

It is not possible to remove any licenses before the end of your commitment term (annual or monthly). Any removals will be processed at the start of the new term.

Any new licenses ordered will be prorated so that their renewal date is in sync with your other existing licenses.

You must complete any payment needed to process the change
