DirectAdmin PHP Settings

DirectAdmin allows you the ability to change your PHP version with a simple click.

MultipleDomains
If you have multiple domains hosted on a single DirectAdmin account, click on the domain name where you see Domain: yourdomain.com (your domain is a blue hyperlink located near the search field) to toggle between the domains to then manage your site redirects.

For the majority of users, setting the PHP Version is enough and you likely won’t Add New Override. Options for each version and the default settings are listed below. Tweak as needed for your site needs.

zlib.output_compression [on or off] off is the default setting

PHP Settings Cannot be Controlled Under This Domain Error Notice

If you see this notice

Domain `yourdomain.com` is using php-fpm. Only the default `maindomainname.com` domain is able to control the php settings.

Locate the Domain Name toggle near the upper right corner of the control panel and select your main domain (the main domain is mentioned in the error notice)

  • Either search for Domain Management or locate it under ***Account Manager > Domain Setup *** and click the icon or link

  • On the Domain Management Page, locate the domain that gave you an error earlier and click on it (you do not need to check the box to the left of it)

  • The page shown below will load. Off to the right side of the screen, click on PHP Version Selector

  • A popup, shown below, will appear. Choose the version you wish to update to and click Save
