Transfer Domains From Wix

Transferring your domains from wix.com to Evolve Web Hosting is easy to do. Follow our tips for the successful transfer of your domain name(s).

Transfer Caveats

  1. Your domain should not be expired at the time of initiating a transfer. We can attempt to transfer it while expired but make no guarantees. You may need to first renew the domain at the current registrar and then initiate a transfer to us.

  2. The domain was not registered within the last 60 days

  3. The domain was not transferred to your current registrar within the last 60 days

If the domain(s) you wish to transfer were registered or transferred to the current registrar within the last 60 days, they have a 60 day transfer lock in place. You can initiate the transfer to Evolve Web Hosting after day 60.

A Special Note About Transferring .uk and .co.uk Domains to us

The .uk and .co.uk domains use what is called a push transfer process and they utilize what is called an IPS TAG. Before initiating a transfer of a .uk or .co.uk domain, you must contact your current registrar and give them our IPS TAG which is GLOBALDOMAIN Then you can submit an order to us to have your domain transferred.

Nameservers

If you’re setting up your hosting with Evolve Web Hosting right now, it’s best to update your nameservers PRIOR to starting a domain transfer.

Click the More Actions icon and click on Manage DNS Records to edit

Verify your contact details

Your Contact Details can be updated by viewing this link from Wix.com - https://support.wix.com/en/article/viewing-and-updating-your-wix-domain-contact-information

Important Warning

Prior to transferring, only update your email address so that you’ll receive your authorization code. Any changes to your name, address or phone number should be made AFTER the transfer is completed to Evolve Web Hosting. If you update more than your email address prior to transferring away from wix.com, they will place a 60 day lock on your domain name and restrict you from transferring it until then.

Transfer Instructions From Wix.com

  1. Go to the Domains page

  2. Click the More Actions icon next to the relevant domain and select Transfer Away from Wix

  1. Click Transfer Domain

  2. Click I Still Want to Transfer

  3. We’ll send a transfer authorization code (EPP code) to your domain’s registrant contact email address

  4. Once you get the code, you can submit a Domain Transfer Order
