Often times, you’ll own additional domains that point to your main domain. If you are only creating a redirect (not setting up email or loading files for these domains), it’s best and easiest to just create a quick URL Redirect using our custom nameservers. Your domain must be registered with us to use this feature. If your domain is not registered with us, scroll down for a link to create a redirect in cPanel or DirectAdmin.
Domain Lock is a prevention tool to stop un requested attempts to transfer your domain. This feature should be enabled at all times unless you are actively transferring the domain.
DomainLock
If your domain is unlocked for 30 days, we’ll automatically re lock it for you and your security.
IRTP
If your domain displays the following notice for the IRTP 60 Transfer Lock, you will not be able to unlock your domain during this time (date shown below is just an example - date shown to you will be different).
The A Record is an IP address and the IP address tells the web browser where the server is to load your website files. There can only be 1 A Record per FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name).
For example, the domain evolvewebhosting.com can have 1 A Record. The subdomain core.evolvewebhosting.com can also have its own A Record, if needed, because it is a unique FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name).
How to Update the A Record in our Portal
If your nameservers for your domain name are using the following, you can follow these instructions.
MX Records are responsible for connecting your domain to your email server. Whether you use Webmail included with your hosting account, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or any other mail provider, you have to have an MX record configured to point to it. Depending on your nameservers, you can manage your MX record and additional DNS records through our portal or your cPanel or DirectAdmin account.
The MX record may have multiple DNS entries but it can only connect to a single mail server. For example, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 use multiple MX Records. You can not point some of your email accounts to Microsoft 365 for example and some to Google or webmail.
